Social issues and future technology trends of adhesion and adhesive technology
(NPO) I would like to congratulate the members of the Nanostructure Polymer Research Association for their continued good health.
The tension situation on a global scale over the past few years has continued, especially international conflicts (Ukraine, Israel, etc.), major disasters caused by climate change (water damage caused by typhoons and widespread fires due to significant temperature fluctuations, etc.), and Noto, Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan I think everyone is well known in the media that many natural disasters have occurred, including the Great Island Earthquake. The NPO Nanostructure Polymer Research Association responded to the Japanese Red Cross Society for disaster donations in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture that occurred on New Year’s Day in 2023.
Until now, as an activity of the Nanostructure Polymer Research Association, we have been donating for the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Great Kumamoto Prefecture Earthquake, and the international conflict in Ukraine, and we will continue to strive for social service through disaster donations.
Well, at the 20th anniversary event and newsletter of the Nanostructure Polymer Research Association held on May 20, 2023, we proposed the “Outlook of the Nanostructure Polymer Research Association”.
In other words, the mission and vision of the Nanostructure Polymer Research Association: “We will widely share with society the history of research on nanostructure polymer technology that is beginning to have a great impact on the economy and society through practical use in polymer materials and the path to realization.” It is important to look back on the basics.
Therefore, we proposed to create a “roadmap of the Nanostructure Polymer Research Association for the future, looking back on the past and considering the current situation.” In other words, the indicators of nanostructure polymer technology that reflect future technology trends according to the roadmap can be said to be the mission and vision of the Research Association. Here, we will introduce the current social issues and future technologies with a view to creating a technical roadmap for adhesion and adhesion, which is Kano’s specialty.
Currently, adhesives and adhesives are used in all fields, including mobility, electronics, medical, and architecture, including electric vehicles.
As a seed of related technologies to choose the optimal adhesive and adhesive, 1 types of base polymers such as epoxy, acrylic, and urethane, 2 process conditions from liquid to solid such as thermal, optical and electron ray curing systems and hot melt, 3 high functionality and high performance In addition to the formulation of various additives that give performance, polymer alloy blend composite that contributes to morphology control, 4 adhesion performance (adhesion strength, wetting to the adherent and mechanical strength after curing, weather resistance (use environment): heat resistance, light resistance, resistance Water-based, etc.), 5 correspondence to adherents, 6 analysis, analysis, simulation, etc.
The current social trend is an economic and social system (global warming, natural disasters) in harmony with the environment, and carbon neutrality and SDGs are mentioned as the keywords.
Polymers including adhesives and adhesives, and social issues in plastics include marine plastics and microplastics, and as countermeasures, 3R (recycling, reuse, reduction), efficient collection and incineration / illegal dumping The response is in progress. As a future technology for environmental response in the field of adhesives and adhesives, high-performance research and development and technologies such as biomass, biodegradable polymer adhesives, adhesives, energy saving of curing systems, and easy-to-recycle disassembly adhesive technology have progressed. There is. Therefore, it is thought that adhesives and adhesives will diversify in the future.
In that sense, the technical roadmap for adhesion and adhesion is 1 conventional: double-sided tape and cellophane tape that emphasize life, deterioration, and adhesive function as a high performance of adhesion and adhesion, 2 present: sticky notes (e.g. post-it) that combine the functions of strong adhesion and easy peeling, Adhesive tape for semiconductor manufacturing process (back grind, dicing) (e.g. UV curable adhesive), 3 research and development stage: 3R environmentally compatible biomass adhesive, disassembly adhesive and self-peeling adhesive, 42050: SDGs, carbon We hope that it will be developed into a society of deepening innovative viscosity and adhesion technology rooted in neutral (e.g., adhesion of adhesives and adhesives by intermolecular forces using the nanostructure of ‘gecko’).
In recent years, research on material informatics, artificial intelligence (AI), efficiency of adhesive curing process conditions, new adhesives and adhesives by biomass, and decombable adhesion technologies have been progressing.
In the future, we hope that it will be an era where adhesives and adhesives that are requested to be kind to the environment can be selected instantly, and it will help to realize carbon neutrality and SDGs.
In the future, we will create an innovative glue and adhesive technology roadmap and lead to the development of the Nanostructure Polymer Research Association.
